Access to the Countryside around Whitby

SATURDAY 10th April : Volunteers help clear litter and rubbish from the salt marsh area of CALLA BECK  to encourage rare plants to spread. Meet at 9.30a.m. by the boat house at Spital Bridge, car parking is very limited. Volunteers will need to wear waders or wellies and bring strong gloves, litter pickers will be provided. We look forward to welcoming several people to help us. Please bring your own refreshments.


ACTION EASTSIDE : Volunteers from Action Eastside, Gateway and Whitby Naturalists Group are holding a ‘Clean-Up’ event on Tuesday, 27th May 2014 between 2.00pm and 4.00pm. Volunteers will help clear litter and rubbish from the higher area of Calla to generally clean up the area. Meet at 1.30p.m. at the Eastside Community Centre.  Volunteers will need to bring strong gloves, litter pickers and bags will be provided. We look forward to welcoming several people to help us.  Refreshments will be provided.. 


WHITBY LIBRARY - WHITBY VOLUNTEERING INFORMATION DAY TUESDAY 3rd JUNE 10.30am - 12.30pm - Anyone can volunteer - come along to this friendly, marketplace event and find out how from Whitby Volunteer Centre, Whitby Library.

 

RUSWARP OPEN DAY, SATURDAY 14th JUNE commencing at 11am -  Ruswarp is home to the Miniature Railway and Pleasure Boats, and also forms part of the Ruswarp Round Walk.  Gateway volunteers will be fund raising on the green with a Bric a Brac stall.  There are lots of other attractions, including various stalls, a flower arranging demo, a plant swap and  a gardener' s question time.  There are also a few gardens open tickets for these will be available from the village hall and garden no 1.  Proceeds from the gardens shared between Ruswarp Gardeners and The Parkinson's Society.

November 2nd - Table top sale Dock End Whitby - A successful event which raised £150.
